Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 27, 2026
This page is maintained by the operators of The Living Archive to explain what information we collect and how it is used. This is not legal advice; please consult your own counsel before relying on it.
Information we collect
- Account details — name, email, and password hash when you create an account.
- Conversation history — the personas you converse with and the messages exchanged, so we can return them to you on later visits.
- Subscription & billing — handled by our payment processor (Stripe). We store a customer ID and subscription status; we do not see or store full card numbers.
- Voice input — audio you record with the microphone is sent to our transcription service to convert speech to text. We do not keep the audio after transcription.
- Usage data — basic analytics (pages visited, device type) so we can improve the product.
Advertising
Free accounts see ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Pro subscribers do not see ads.
How we use information
- To provide and personalize the conversation experience.
- To deliver text-to-speech audio for subscribers within their credit allowance.
- To process subscriptions and detect abuse.
- To communicate important account or service updates.
Subprocessors
We use the following third parties to operate the service: Supabase (database, authentication, storage), Stripe (payments), Google AdSense (advertising for free users), ElevenLabs and OpenAI (voice synthesis and transcription), and Google Gemini (AI conversation generation).
Your choices
You may request a copy of your data or delete your account at any time by contacting us. Deleting your account removes your conversation history from our active systems.
